Development Manager

The Development Manager must be able to lead teams, have superior technological knowledge, and excellent communication skills.  This position is responsible for the analysis, development, implementation, and improvement of technology solutions within the company and directs the work of the Technology Development teams. 

As a Development Manager you would:

  • Manage resources in accordance with outlined budgets
  • Collaborate with team mates as well as other departments to meet the needs and goals of the company
  • Keep internal documentation/wiki’s current and accurate
  • Follow defined Software development processes and standards
  • Management and mentor development resources to maximize productivity and quality for each project
  • Provide timely and accurate communications with business partners
  • Provides strategic roadmaps for systems and processes and present to business owners and stakeholders.               
  • Develop metrics and processes to track and understand business value of system improvements
  • Work with Business Owners to identify strategic initiatives which will reduce cost, increase revenue, or improve customer experience
  • Investigate defects and suggestions for improving internal systems
  • Assists with patch management testing and deployment
  • Design, code, and implement new solutions to meet company needs
  • Determine plans for efficiently incorporating new products into production workflow
  • Keep job knowledge current by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Well versed knowledge in all aspects of Software Development Life Cycles
  • A deep understanding of application and system architecture
  • A strong familiarity API interaction/implementation
  • Knowledge in scripting, Perl, PHP, and/or Python
  • Knowledge of Order to cash, Service assurance, and finance business processes
  • An understanding of how product life cycles work
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work effectively without constant supervision
  • A propensity for learning new technology
  • Proven ability to lead a large team with a broad array of focus areas
  • Experience with budgeting and resource allocation with large multi-year budgets
  • The ability to work with diverse teams in order to accomplish goals
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or comparable combination of education or relative experience
