Support Automation and Development Engineer (Linux)

The Support Automation and Development Engineer is responsible for the innovation and maintenance of Engineered Solutions and other critical systems our support team depends on.

As a Support Automation and Development Engineer you would:

  • Demonstrate the ability to diagnose complex customer application issues and provide quick and accurate solutions within a collaborative environment
  • Support sophisticated hosting products including but not limited to: VMware, HA-MySQL, HA-KVM, Openstack
  • Create and maintain documentation for sophisticated hosting products
  • Facilitate and/or provide training for current systems, products, and relevant topics
  • Work with customers to ensure proposed solutions to meet their needs and/or requirements 
  • Work with third party vendors as needed for supported technologies
  • Provide escalated technical support as expected by team policies
  • Work on interdepartmental projects which require specific technology expertise
  • Assist other teams with systems and products as required by direct leadership
  • Stay current on existing and future technologies
  • Participate in incident response process

You Have:

  • 4+ years relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of LAMP Stack, replication, backups, open source server technologies, and virtualization including VMware and openstack
  • Advanced skill with Bash Scripting, MySQL
  • Expert troubleshooting skills
  • Proven customer service acumen
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Able to work both independently and in groups with minimal supervision on mainly project oriented tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable combination of education or relative experience
